UAE Weather Warning: Five Days of Rain Expected as Strong Winds Could Reach 50 km/h

Date:

UAE Weather Outlook: Rainfall Expected in Several Areas This Week as Gusty Winds Raise Dust and Reduce Visibility.

Dubai: Several parts of the UAE could experience rainfall from Monday through Friday, accompanied by strong winds reaching speeds of up to 50 km/h and occasional dust-blowing conditions, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

In its latest weather forecast, the NCM predicted generally fair to partly cloudy skies on Monday, with the possibility of rain-bearing convective clouds developing over western and eastern regions of the country.

Winds are forecast to remain generally light to moderate but could strengthen considerably during periods of cloud activity, potentially causing blowing dust and reduced visibility in some areas.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), wind speeds will typically range between 10 and 25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 50 km/h in inland regions and 45 km/h in mountainous areas.

Temperatures are expected to climb to a maximum of 39°C in inland areas, while coastal regions and islands could record highs of 37°C. Mountainous locations are forecast to experience relatively cooler conditions, with temperatures reaching around 32°C.

Humidity levels are likely to rise during the night and into Tuesday morning, particularly in some coastal and inland locations, increasing the possibility of fog or mist formation.

Rain and Strong Winds Expected on Tuesday and Wednesday

Unstable weather conditions are forecast to persist through Tuesday and Wednesday, with convective clouds likely to develop over northern and eastern parts of the UAE.

These cloud formations could bring scattered rainfall to some areas, according to the NCM.

Wind speeds may once again reach 50 km/h during periods of increased cloud activity, potentially stirring up dust and affecting visibility in exposed locations.

Meanwhile, higher humidity levels overnight and during the early morning hours could create favourable conditions for fog or mist in certain coastal and inland areas.

Rainfall Chances Shift to Eastern UAE on Thursday and Friday

By Thursday and Friday, the likelihood of rainfall is expected to become more concentrated over the UAE’s eastern regions, while other parts of the country are forecast to experience generally partly cloudy conditions.

Winds will remain predominantly light to moderate but may occasionally intensify alongside developing clouds, with gusts potentially reaching speeds of up to 50 km/h.

The forecast indicates that changing cloud cover, occasional rainfall, gusty winds and periods of increased humidity could continue to influence weather conditions across different parts of the UAE throughout the five-day period.

Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are forecast to range from slight to moderate on Monday and Tuesday before becoming generally slight from Wednesday onwards. Meanwhile, the Oman Sea is expected to experience slight sea conditions throughout the five-day forecast period.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) explained that the changing weather patterns are being influenced by an extension of a surface low-pressure system, combined with a weak low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere.

These atmospheric conditions are contributing to increased cloud development, the possibility of scattered rainfall and occasional strong winds across parts of the UAE.
