UAE weather: Temperatures set to dip today before climbing again later this week

Date:

UAE temperatures to dip amid dusty winds, humid conditions and coastal fog.

Dubai: Temperatures are expected to gradually decline across the UAE today, particularly along coastal areas, while winds could reach speeds of up to 40km/h, potentially causing blowing dust, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The weather will remain fair to partly cloudy at times, with clouds expected to develop over eastern parts of the country in the afternoon. Light to moderate winds may strengthen at times, stirring up dust and reducing visibility in some areas.

Temperatures will remain high despite the expected dip, ranging from 44°C to 48°C in inland areas and 40°C to 45°C along the coast and islands. In the mountains, temperatures are expected to reach between 32°C and 38°C.

South-easterly to north-westerly winds are expected to reach speeds of up to 40km/h over inland areas and 35km/h along the coast, islands and mountainous regions. Sea conditions will remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

The National Centre of Meteorology attributed the weather pattern to the extension of a weak surface low-pressure system from the east, accompanied by an upper-air high-pressure system.

On Wednesday, convective clouds may develop over eastern parts of the UAE during the afternoon, while winds could again reach speeds of up to 40km/h.

Temperatures are expected to rise again on Thursday, particularly in coastal areas, with humidity increasing overnight in some coastal locations. Similar humid conditions are forecast for Friday.

By Saturday, increased humidity could result in fog or mist forming over some coastal areas overnight and continuing into Sunday morning, according to the NCM.
