UAE delivers emergency humanitarian assistance following earthquake in the Philippines.

The relief effort comes in the wake of a devastating 7.8-magnitude earthquake that killed dozens of people.

Abu Dhabi: The UAE has swiftly responded through the UAE Aid Agency to support those affected by the 7.8-magnitude earthquake that struck the southern coast of the Philippines, which killed 35 people and injured more than 200 others.

Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, said, “This rapid response reflects the UAE’s international responsibility toward communities and populations impacted by natural disasters and crises. We aim to ease the suffering of those affected by the earthquake and contribute to early recovery and stability in coordination with international organisations and local authorities.”

He further noted that the UAE’s relief support was based on a comprehensive needs assessment carried out by the agency in coordination with the relevant authorities in the Philippines, aimed at identifying the priorities and essential requirements of those affected.

He also emphasized the UAE’s commitment to delivering vital humanitarian assistance as quickly as possible in such exceptional and critical situations, in line with humanitarian assessments issued by relevant United Nations organisations.

The UAE, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed its solidarity with the friendly Republic of the Philippines following the earthquake that struck the Mindanao region in southern Philippines, which caused several deaths and injuries.

The UAE also conveyed its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of the Philippines, while wishing a swift recovery for all those injured.
