UAE flight updates today: Complete list of cancellations, delays and airport announcements for October 31

Date:

UAE airports prepare for winter travel rush as airlines resume services.

UAE airports are preparing for a busier winter travel season as international airlines gradually reinstate services and increase flight frequencies. Scheduled departing seat capacity across the country’s airports has climbed to 7.2 million in October, a 23 per cent increase compared with June. More routes between Dubai and Europe are also expected to resume between late October and December.

However, regional tensions and airspace restrictions continue to disrupt some operations, with several airlines extending flight suspensions or delaying their planned returns.

Airlines planning to resume Dubai services in November:

  • British Airways: Scheduled to restart Dubai flights on November 3.
  • Lufthansa: Has pushed its return to November 25, after previously planning to resume services in October.
  • SWISS: Its planned October 25 restart has been postponed, with a new date yet to be announced.
  • Eurowings: Its planned November 1 return has been delayed, with no revised date confirmed.
  • ITA Airways: Services to Dubai remain suspended until November 30.

Passengers are urged to contact their airlines for the latest flight schedules, rebooking arrangements and refund information, as planned dates may change.

Singapore Airlines extends suspension of Dubai flights

Singapore Airlines has extended the suspension of flights SQ494 and SQ495 between Singapore and Dubai until February 28, 2027, citing the geopolitical situation in the Middle East. The carrier has also warned that other services could be disrupted.

Passengers holding bookings on the affected flights are entitled to a full refund.

UAE airports prepare for a stronger winter travel season

UAE airports are gearing up for increased passenger traffic during the winter months, with scheduled departing seat capacity reaching 7.2 million in October. This represents a 23 per cent rise from June.

Dubai International Airport accounts for 4.6 million seats, while Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi has 1.7 million and Sharjah International Airport has 840,000.

Emirates is offering 3.1 million seats this month. Meanwhile, flydubai has recorded the biggest capacity increase among major UAE carriers, with its available seats rising 27.5 per cent since June to 1.1 million.

International connectivity is also improving, with as many as 36 weekly flights between Dubai and Europe expected to return from late October through December. Services to Athens and Manila are also being reinstated.

Nevertheless, regional tensions and airspace restrictions continue to affect certain routes. Travellers departing from or connecting through Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah should confirm their flight status with their airline before heading to the airport.
