India suspends Telegram over allegations of fraud involving NEET candidates, according to the Ministry of Education.

Date:

The restriction was imposed to address a structural vulnerability that, according to officials, has been exploited on the platform to create and circulate fabricated “paper leak” claims related to examinations.

India has blocked the Telegram messaging app until June 22, according to a statement from the Ministry of Education, citing its alleged use in defrauding candidates appearing for the medical entrance examination.

The restriction, officials said, was imposed due to a structural feature that has reportedly been exploited to create and circulate fabricated “paper leak” evidence during examinations.
