Emirates SkyCargo has launched its first cargo route to Central Asia.

Date:

Weekly freighter flights between Dubai and Almaty will provide an additional 100 tonnes of cargo capacity.

Emirates SkyCargo will begin dedicated weekly freighter flights to Almaty starting June 16, marking its first cargo destination in Central Asia and establishing a new trade link between Kazakhstan and Dubai.

The airline’s freight division said the service will operate every Tuesday using Boeing 777F aircraft, adding over 100 tonnes of cargo capacity each week between Almaty and Emirates’ global network via Dubai.

The new route will facilitate the transport of electronics, perishables, machinery, and consumer goods, connecting Kazakhstan’s largest city with markets across six continents.

“Emirates SkyCargo’s weekly freighter service to Almaty aligns with our role as a global trade facilitator and marks an important step in expanding our network and connectivity to Central Asia, a region experiencing dynamic growth,” said Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo.

“Our flights will create new opportunities for businesses in Almaty and the surrounding region to expand their international operations, while giving global customers fast and convenient wide-body cargo connectivity to a key strategic market.”

He added that the expansion into Almaty supports the carrier’s long-term growth strategy and the D33 Dubai Economic Agenda by boosting foreign trade and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global logistics hub.
