Students assessed under CBSE’s special 2026 Class 12 scheme can take exams in subjects of their choice at no additional fee.
CBSE Class 12 students in the UAE whose 2026 board results were determined under a special assessment scheme will have another opportunity to take examinations in subjects that were previously cancelled, following a decision by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The examinations will cover 40 subjects, comprising 20 academic and 20 skill-based subjects, across seven affected West Asian countries: the UAE, Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
CBSE had earlier cancelled the examinations across the affected countries due to the prevailing circumstances. To determine the results of impacted students, the board introduced a special assessment scheme on March 27, 2026.
Results for regular Class 12 candidates in the affected West Asian countries were announced on May 13, alongside those of students in India and other overseas centres. CBSE later declared the results of private candidates from these countries using the same special assessment scheme.
The latest decision follows a ruling by India’s Supreme Court.
Students can choose subjects
The fresh examination opportunity will be available to regular students at CBSE-affiliated schools in the affected West Asian countries whose List of Candidates (LOC) was submitted for the 2026 Main Examinations and whose results were subsequently determined under the special assessment scheme.
Eligible students will be able to appear for examinations in subjects of their choice. Marks secured in the fresh examinations will replace the scores awarded earlier under the assessment scheme.
Private candidates will also be eligible, provided they had submitted their examination forms for the 2026 Main Examinations and their results were declared under the same assessment scheme.
CBSE has clarified that the results of the fresh examinations will be treated as final and will replace the candidates’ previously declared results.
Eligible regular candidates will be required to submit their List of Candidates (LOC) personally, while private candidates must submit their examination forms themselves within the designated period.
Applications open from September 22
The submission window for both regular and private candidates will remain open from September 22 to September 26, 2026. CBSE has confirmed that no examination fee will be charged.
The board said the examination dates and detailed schedule will be announced after the LOCs and examination forms have been submitted. A link for completing the submission process will be made available on the official CBSE website.
The examinations will be conducted exclusively in the seven affected West Asian countries and will not be held elsewhere. CBSE also confirmed that the existing examination centres will remain unchanged.
Students who were absent from the 2026 Main Examinations for any reason will not be eligible to appear for the fresh examinations.
CBSE has also clarified that no new regular or private candidates who did not participate in the 2026 Main Examinations will be allowed to register.
Candidates will not be permitted to change their subjects, and fresh examinations will not be held for subjects in which CBSE had already conducted the exams.
The board has instructed CBSE-affiliated schools across the affected countries to circulate the notification among all concerned Class 12 students and provide them with the necessary guidance on the application process.
CBSE has further emphasised that the September 22 to 26 submission window must be strictly followed, with no extension to the deadline.
CBSE has clarified that no post-result services or facilities will be available for these fresh examinations.
