Dubai: Emirates has signed seven tourism agreements covering destinations across the Indian Ocean, Europe, Southeast Asia and the UAE, expanding its partnerships aimed at attracting more international visitors to destinations across its global network.

The agreements, signed during Arabian Travel Market 2026, cover Seychelles, Mauritius, Madagascar, Sharjah, Malaysia, Finland and Western Norway. Planned initiatives include joint marketing campaigns, travel trade programmes and familiarisation trips aimed at promoting the destinations to international travellers.

The Dubai-based airline also renewed partnerships with Huawei and Dubai Duty Free, extending cooperation on digital services and passenger offers.

Seychelles and Mauritius partnerships renewed

Emirates has renewed its partnership with the Seychelles Tourism Board and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture, extending a collaboration that dates back to 2013.

Under the renewed agreement, the partners will work to boost inbound tourism through joint marketing initiatives and familiarisation trips for media representatives and travel trade partners.

Emirates currently operates two daily services to Mahé. Seychelles recorded nearly 400,000 visitor arrivals in 2025, up 13 per cent from 353,000 the previous year.

The airline has also renewed its partnership with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, extending a collaboration that has supported the island nation’s tourism industry for more than two decades.

Visitor arrivals to Mauritius from Middle Eastern markets increased by 10.5 per cent in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier.

Emirates currently operates three daily flights to Mauritius, offering a combined weekly capacity of 19,096 seats in both directions.

The renewed partnership will focus on promoting the destination through travel agents, developing special travel packages for different customer segments and organising familiarisation trips aimed at key feeder markets.

Madagascar targets one million tourists

Emirates has also signed an agreement with Madagascar’s Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts to support the country’s goal of attracting one million tourists annually by 2028.

Under the partnership, the two sides will promote Madagascar across key international markets through advertising campaigns, incentives and tailored travel packages developed with tour operators and travel agencies. Familiarisation trips for media representatives and travel trade partners are also planned to increase awareness of the destination.

Sharjah tourism partnership continues

Emirates and the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) have renewed their tourism partnership, with promotional efforts targeting key markets including the GCC, India, China, Far East Asia and Europe.

The collaboration has included joint sales initiatives, workshops, roadshows and familiarisation trips. Emirates has also supported SCTDA in connecting with travel trade partners in markets where the authority does not have local representation.

The airline also works with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi to encourage international travellers to explore multiple destinations across the UAE during a single visit.

Malaysia targets 47 million foreign visitors

Emirates and Tourism Malaysia have renewed their partnership through a one-year agreement supporting the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 campaign, which aims to attract 47 million international visitors.

The partnership will include joint marketing and advertising campaigns, as well as familiarisation trips for media representatives and travel trade partners to strengthen destination awareness.

Emirates currently operates 21 weekly flights between Dubai and Kuala Lumpur, with passengers able to access additional destinations through the airline’s codeshare partnership with Batik Air.

Finland deal comes before Helsinki launch

Emirates has also signed an agreement with Visit Finland ahead of the launch of its Helsinki service on October 1.

The new route will provide the only year-round air connection between Finland and the UAE, strengthening travel links between the two countries.

The partnership will focus on attracting visitors from key markets across East and Southeast Asia, West Asia, Australasia, the Middle East and Africa, while also engaging travel trade partners and tour operators through targeted programmes.

Promotional activities will showcase Finland’s four main tourism regions — Lakeland, Coast and Archipelago, Lapland and Helsinki — to travellers across Emirates’ global network.

Emirates has also signed an agreement with Fjord Norway, the official tourism board for Western Norway, aimed at increasing inbound tourism to the region by leveraging the airline’s international connectivity.

Passenger offers and digital partnerships

Emirates has renewed its strategic partnership with Huawei, expanding their collaboration across marketing, digital innovation and customer experience initiatives.

The partnership builds on a collaboration that began in 2020, which has included integrating the Emirates App into Huawei’s digital ecosystem and conducting joint marketing campaigns.

Under the renewed agreement, the two companies will expand cooperation in personalised digital travel services, strengthen brand engagement in China and explore new opportunities across emerging media platforms.

Emirates has also signed an agreement with Dubai Duty Free to provide passengers travelling to or through Dubai with exclusive offers at Dubai Duty Free outlets in Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport.

The partnership will support joint initiatives aimed at enhancing the passenger experience while encouraging increased traffic through Dubai.
