Aryansh Sharma maintained his impressive run of form with the bat as the UAE secured a commanding 97-run victory over Jersey in the second 50-over encounter at Grainville.

The match provided valuable preparation for the UAE ahead of their upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 tri-series, where they are set to face Scotland and Canada in their next World Cup qualifying campaign.

After being put in to bat, the UAE posted a competitive total of 276 for six from their allotted 50 overs.

Opener Aryansh Sharma, who had smashed an unbeaten 131 in the opening match, once again anchored the UAE innings with a composed 86 off 108 balls. He combined with Rahul Chopra for a crucial 100-run stand for the fourth wicket, with Chopra contributing a patient 47 off 76 deliveries.

Sohaib Khan added momentum in the closing stages, producing a blistering 69 from just 51 balls, featuring five boundaries and three sixes, to help the UAE post a formidable total. For Jersey, Julius Sumerauer was the standout bowler, finishing with impressive figures of 3 for 49.

In response, Jersey endured an early setback, slipping to 58 for three. Opener Stanley Norman provided some resistance with a patient 40 off 79 balls, while Jonty Jenner scored 30 and Charlie Brennan chipped in with 24.

However, the visitors were unable to establish any significant partnerships and suffered a late collapse, losing their final four wickets for just 32 runs. They were eventually bowled out for 179 in 38.5 overs, handing the UAE a convincing 97-run victory.
