UAE weather: Temperatures to reach 44°C as dusty conditions persist, with possible fog overnight

Date:

Winds to stir up dust, while rising humidity may trigger fog and mist formation.

The UAE is set to experience hot and generally fair weather today, with temperatures climbing to 44°C in inland areas. Fresh winds are expected to stir up dust and sand in some locations, while increasing humidity could lead to the formation of fog or mist overnight, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The NCM said low clouds are likely to develop over parts of the eastern regions, with a chance of convective cloud formation during the afternoon. Humid conditions are expected to persist into the night and early Thursday morning across some coastal and inland areas, increasing the likelihood of fog or mist.

Temperatures are expected to range between 39°C and 44°C in inland areas, 36°C to 41°C across coastal regions, and 30°C to 36°C in the mountains. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally freshening to speeds of up to 40km/h, which may cause blowing dust and reduced visibility in some western areas.

The Arabian Gulf is expected to be rough at times during the day before easing to moderate and slight conditions by evening, while the Oman Sea is forecast to remain slight.

Looking ahead, the NCM expects temperatures to rise gradually on Thursday, with generally fair weather prevailing through Sunday. Humid conditions are likely to persist during the night and early morning hours, with a chance of fog or mist formation, particularly over coastal and western areas.
