Dubai: King’s College Hospital London – Dubai has announced a major multi-year expansion of its UAE healthcare network, marking a significant investment aimed at strengthening and advancing healthcare services in the country. Scheduled for completion in 2028, the expansion will increase capacity, introduce advanced medical technologies, and broaden access to its specialised services to meet growing healthcare needs.

The project reflects the hospital’s long-term commitment to Dubai’s healthcare vision and has been developed in coordination with the Dubai Health Authority to align with the emirate’s strategic healthcare priorities. It will also feature a sustainable design in line with the UAE’s environmental objectives.

H.E. Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer said the expansion demonstrates confidence in Dubai’s healthcare vision and a commitment to improving access to internationally aligned, advanced medical care.

Kimberley Pierce said the project represents more than physical growth, describing it as an investment in the future of patient care. She added that the expansion will enable integrated care pathways and raise standards of clinical excellence and patient experience across the region.

“This expansion reflects the significant progress made by King’s College Hospital London – Dubai and the vision and commitment that have helped position it as one of the leading healthcare institutions in the Middle East. We are proud to have supported its development from the early stages and to see it evolve into a centre of clinical excellence, innovation and patient-focused care,” said Roy Clarke.

He added that as the hospital enters its next phase of growth, the focus remains on maintaining high standards of quality, patient safety and clinical governance, while strengthening ties between Dubai and the wider King’s network.

Clarke said the collaboration between clinicians, healthcare professionals and leaders across international platforms will help expand knowledge-sharing, innovation and best practices, ultimately supporting improved healthcare delivery for patients in Dubai and beyond.

The expansion will prioritise high-demand specialised services, including advanced treatment in oncology and complex liver disease. It will also introduce new dedicated centres for critical care, precision medicine and advanced surgical procedures, alongside additional operating theatres and integrated digital health systems.

King’s College Hospital London – Dubai is also developing a digitally enabled hospital model designed to combine advanced medical technology with patient-centred environments that support comfort, wellbeing and recovery. Inspired by Japandi design principles, the expansion will incorporate natural materials, refined finishes and a minimalist architectural style that reflects both innovation and empathy in healthcare delivery.

During the construction phase, the hospital will continue operating at full capacity, ensuring all services remain uninterrupted. Patients will still receive consultant-led care from internationally recognised specialists and multidisciplinary teams.

Kimberley Pierce said the hospital is focused on maintaining a seamless patient experience throughout the development process.

“We are committed to ensuring that the patient experience remains positive and seamless throughout this exciting journey,” she said. “While construction will bring some changes to our campus, we are taking proactive steps to minimise inconvenience. Our business-as-usual promise means patients will continue to receive uninterrupted, world-class care from the experts they trust.”
