Al Raffa Police Station praised an act of honesty after lost cash was returned to its owner within three hours.

Al Raffa Police Station honoured Indian national Mohammed Ali Sherakal Mohi for his honesty after he found Dh100,000 in a parking lot and handed it over to the police. The cash was returned to its owner — who was unaware it had gone missing — within just three hours.
Ahmed Obaid bin Hudaiba, along with Saleh Hassan Al Marzouqi and Ali Haji Al Balushi, honoured Mohi in recognition of his integrity.
Ahmed Obaid bin Hudaiba said Dubai Police is committed to recognising community members who demonstrate integrity by handing over lost property so it can be returned to its rightful owners, noting that such actions reflect the UAE’s values of safety and security. He also praised Mohi for his honesty and sense of responsibility in turning over the money to the police for its safe return.
The incident began when the owner of the money, who runs a private shipping company, withdrew Dh200,000 from a bank and placed the cash in a paper envelope. In a hurry to return to his car, he failed to seal the envelope properly, causing a bundle containing Dh100,000 to fall out unnoticed before he drove away.
Later, Mohi arrived at the parking lot and was surprised to discover the cash lying on the ground. He photographed the money and the exact spot where he found it before heading to Al Raffa Police Station to hand it over to authorities.
Just three hours
Following an investigation, Al Raffa Police Station was able to identify and contact the owner of the money within three hours. The businessman was shocked to learn that he had dropped the cash without noticing it. He later visited the station to collect the money.
The owner expressed his gratitude to Dubai Police and to Mohi, praising the high level of safety and security in Dubai.
