‘Think Food, Think Thailand’ campaign showcases Thai flavours at 31 supermarkets across the UAE and Bahrain.

Thai Trade Center Dubai, part of the Royal Thai Government’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) under the Ministry of Commerce, has announced the Thai Fruits and Food Festival 2026. The promotion will highlight Thai rice, seasonal fruits and vegetables, and a variety of food products at supermarkets across the UAE and Bahrain.
Held under the theme “Think Food, Think Thailand,” the festival brings together Choithrams and Al Maya in the UAE, Mega Mart in Bahrain, and Ever Spring Industry Limited. Shoppers at 31 participating outlets can explore Thai rice, selected fresh produce, coconut products, sauces, pastes and other grocery essentials, with discounts of up to 25% on selected items.
The festival will take place in three phases during September and October:
- Choithrams, UAE: 16 stores, from 4 to 17 September 2026.
- Al Maya, UAE: 10 stores, from 15 to 29 September 2026.
- Mega Mart, Bahrain: Five stores, from 23 September to 10 October 2026.
The staggered schedule will give shoppers access to the promotion across participating UAE stores for most of September, before extending to Bahrain later in the month. The initiative highlights the growing presence of Thai food products in the Gulf.
Thai flavours: What shoppers can find
The festival puts Thailand’s signature rice varieties in the spotlight, including Thai Hom Mali rice, celebrated worldwide for its quality, fragrance and versatility. The fresh produce range features rambutan, mangosteen, guava, pink guava, red rose apple, peeled jackfruit and Phulae pineapple, alongside baby asparagus, baby corn, lemongrass, red and green chillies, holy basil, sweet basil and lime leaves.
Fresh mangoes will not be included, as the seasonal lull has limited the supply of export-quality fruit—a decision that reflects the campaign’s focus on maintaining quality standards.
Choithrams will also exclusively trial a new range of frozen fruit ice sticks during the festival. Shoppers can choose from Golden Nam Dok Mai Mango Ice Stick (70g), Mango Ice Stick Coated with Dark Chocolate Flavour (90g), Mango Ice Stick Coated with Dark Chocolate and Almond (100g), and Banana Ice Stick Coated with Dark Chocolate (80g).
The limited trial will assess UAE shoppers’ response ahead of a wider retail launch. Availability may differ between stores.
The festival also features a variety of Thai pantry essentials, including green and red curry pastes, tom yum paste, fish sauce, soy sauce and Thai-style chilli sauces. Alongside snacks, seasonings and ready-to-cook sauces, the selection gives shoppers in the UAE and Bahrain an easy way to explore Thai cooking at home.
“Thai Fruits and Food Festival 2026 is more than a seasonal promotion; it demonstrates how Thai exporters can build lasting relationships with retail partners across the UAE and the wider GCC. By bringing our rice, fruit, vegetable, and food products to 31 stores through three respected retailers, we provide Thai producers with a platform to reach households across the region and offer shoppers an authentic taste of Thailand. Thai Trade Center Dubai remains committed to supporting these partnerships as part of our broader mission as an import-export knowledge hub for Thai businesses,” said Pitichai Ratananaka, Executive Director of Thai Trade Center Dubai.
Throughout September, Thai Trade Center Dubai will highlight the festival on its social media channels, with retailer features and behind-the-scenes stories tracing the journey of Thai rice, fruit and food products to supermarket shelves across the UAE and Bahrain.
