Convective clouds could bring rain and strong winds to eastern and southern areas until 8pm.
Dubai: The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a warning for convective clouds bringing rain and fresh to strong winds, with winds potentially becoming very strong at times, across parts of the country on Thursday.
The NCM said these conditions are expected in some eastern and southern areas between 2pm and 8pm today.
The NCM added that strong downdrafts from the convective clouds could whip up dust and sand, reducing horizontal visibility in affected areas.
Unsettled weather is forecast to persist on Friday, with fair to partly cloudy skies and a chance of convective clouds bringing afternoon rain to eastern and southern areas.
Winds may reach 40 km/h and stir up dust, while rising humidity overnight could bring mist to some coastal and inland areas early on Saturday.
Further afternoon rain is possible in eastern areas on Saturday, along with rising temperatures. Humidity will continue overnight, with mist possible in some coastal areas on Sunday morning.
Sunday and Monday are expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with clouds over eastern areas potentially developing into convective clouds in the afternoon.
Winds may reach 35 km/h on both days, while seas are forecast to remain slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
