Date:

The initiative seeks to deepen social cohesion and uphold the values that unite citizens and residents throughout the UAE.

Dubai: A new national initiative aimed at strengthening unity and shared values is gaining momentum across the UAE.

The Pledge and Commitment initiative was launched in May by Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, during a ceremony held at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre. The event brought together more than 4,800 participants from across the country, including citizens, residents, students, academics, investors, business leaders and representatives of various communities. Since then, the initiative has been opened to the wider public through the dedicated digital platform, pledge.ae.

What is the pledge?

The initiative gives citizens and residents the opportunity to affirm their loyalty to the UAE leadership and reinforce their sense of belonging to the nation. It is founded on four key pillars: promoting coexistence and unity, embracing the leadership values of the UAE President, strengthening civic responsibility and national identity, and expressing appreciation for the country’s achievements and progress.

The pledge is a declaration of loyalty to the UAE and its leadership, reaffirming a commitment to coexistence, preserving and passing on national values to future generations, and playing an active role in supporting the country’s ongoing development and prosperity.

How to take part

To participate, visit pledge.ae, review the pledge text and sign it digitally. The process takes only a few minutes. Upon completion, participants receive a personalised Certificate of Appreciation that can be downloaded and shared on social media. Featuring the signatory’s name, the certificate serves as a meaningful memento and a public expression of pride in the UAE.

The initiative is designed to evolve into a nationwide movement that combines community participation, digital engagement and public events to strengthen unity and foster a deeper sense of national belonging. In a country renowned for its diversity, where citizens and long-term residents from around the world live, study and work side by side, the pledge serves as a reminder of the shared values that bring the nation together.
