Al Mamzar Beach Park to Host Elite and Amateur Athletes in Celebration of Women’s Sports.

Dubai: The World Triathlon Women’s Cup is set to return to Dubai on December 6, bringing together leading international triathletes and amateur participants for a celebration of women’s sports at Al Mamzar Beach Park.
Registration is now open for the competition, which welcomes women of different fitness levels and sporting backgrounds, from beginners attempting their first triathlon to experienced professional athletes.
The Dubai event will mark only the second edition of the World Triathlon Women’s Cup held globally, making it a significant occasion for women’s participation in competitive sport.
Organised by the Dubai Sports Council, in collaboration with World Triathlon and the UAE Triathlon Federation, the event aims to encourage more women and girls to embrace active lifestyles and participate in sporting competitions.
Dubai Aims to Inspire More Women Through Triathlon
Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council, highlighted the event’s wider mission of creating lasting opportunities for female athletes.
“The World Triathlon Women’s Cup is about far more than one day of racing,” he said.
“We want it to be a lasting platform for women’s sport, inspiring more women and girls to take part.”
The competition is designed to provide an inclusive environment where women can challenge themselves, develop confidence and experience the excitement of triathlon racing.
Race Categories for Beginners and Experienced Athletes
Women aged 18 and above can register for two amateur race distances, depending on their experience and fitness levels.
- Swimming: 400 metres
- Cycling: 10 kilometres
- Running: 2.5 kilometres
- Swimming: 750 metres
- Cycling: 20 kilometres
- Running: 5 kilometres
Both race categories are open to individual competitors and relay teams comprising up to three participants.
The relay format allows teammates to share the swimming, cycling and running portions, offering an alternative for women who prefer to compete as part of a group.
Elite Athletes to Compete for Olympic Ranking Points
The professional women’s competition will follow the Sprint distance, consisting of a 750-metre swim, 20-kilometre cycling course and 5-kilometre run.
The winner of the elite race will receive 500 Olympic Ranking points, adding international competitive significance to the Dubai event.
The list of elite athletes participating in the competition will be announced closer to December 6.
Debbie Alexander, Vice President of World Triathlon, emphasised that the event creates an opportunity for first-time participants to experience the atmosphere of an international competition while sharing the venue with elite athletes.
The organisers will also introduce a dedicated Emirati category, recognising the top three finishers in both individual and team events.

Family Activities and Wellness Events Planned
The celebrations will extend beyond the triathlon races, with an event village opening on December 5, one day before the main competition.
Visitors and participants can look forward to family-friendly activities, wellness sessions and discussions focusing on nutrition and mental wellbeing.
These activities will continue throughout the weekend, creating opportunities for families, supporters and sports enthusiasts to participate in the event atmosphere.
By combining professional competition, amateur participation and community activities, the World Triathlon Women’s Cup aims to strengthen Dubai’s position as a destination for women’s sporting events while encouraging more women to pursue active and healthy lifestyles.
