UAE forecast: Mercury set to decline, bringing cooler conditions to coastal regions

Date:

Stronger winds of up to 40 km/h and rough sea conditions are expected in the Arabian Gulf.

The UAE is expected to experience fair weather over the coming days, with temperatures gradually declining, especially along coastal areas. However, sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are forecast to turn rough by early next week, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The NCM added that the country remains under the influence of weak surface pressure systems, along with an extension of an upper-level high-pressure system.

Today’s weather is expected to remain generally fair, with low clouds forming over the eastern coast in the morning and humid conditions developing overnight and into Friday morning over some coastal areas. Winds will be light to moderate, while seas are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Temperatures are expected to range between 36°C and 42°C in coastal and island areas, while inland regions may see highs between 42°C and 47°C. Mountainous areas are forecast to record lower temperatures, between 32°C and 37°C.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said south-westerly to north-westerly winds could reach up to 30 km/h on Thursday, strengthening to as much as 40 km/h from Saturday through Monday.

Forecasters said temperatures will continue to gradually decline through Sunday, especially along coastal areas, while sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are expected to turn moderate to rough by Sunday and Monday.
