UAE expands its automatic degree recognition system to include four additional universities.

Date:

The Automatic Qualifications Recognition Initiative now includes 42 institutions across the UAE, having processed more than 20,000 requests as the country advances its zero-bureaucracy agenda.

Four new higher education institutions have joined the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s (MoHESR) Automatic Qualifications Recognition Initiative, taking the total number of participating universities and colleges across the country to 42.

The newly added institutions are Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, Sharjah Maritime Academy, Imam Malik College for Sharia & Law, and Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Dubai. A further 15 institutions are currently in the process of completing onboarding procedures.

The initiative is a proactive service that supports the UAE’s zero-bureaucracy goals by streamlining qualification recognition processes, reducing manual intervention, and providing a faster, more seamless experience for graduates.

Since its launch, it has processed 20,255 recognition requests.

The expansion is part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research’s (MoHESR) broader strategy to enhance digital services and reduce administrative steps for users, reflecting greater integration of digital systems across the higher education sector.

Zero Government Bureaucracy Award

The announcement also coincides with MoHESR being recognised in this year’s Zero Government Bureaucracy programme, which honours efforts to redesign public services and improve the experience of students and graduates.

Officials said the initiative reflects the Ministry’s commitment to removing bureaucratic barriers and ensuring administrative processes no longer hinder graduates as they move into the workforce.
