UAE carriers add 10 overseas destinations and prepare to launch 14 additional routes by early 2027

UAE airlines Emirates, Etihad, flydubai and Air Arabia expand international reach and boost global connectivity.

Dubai: UAE national carriers have expanded their international networks this year with the launch of 10 new destinations, while a further 14 routes are planned over the coming months and through the first quarter of 2027. The expansion strengthens the UAE’s role as a global aviation hub connecting markets across the East and West.

Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, will begin operating daily non-stop flights between Dubai and Helsinki from October 1, creating the first year-round direct air connection between Finland and the UAE.

Etihad Airways has expanded its network with the launch of five new destinations since the beginning of the year, including Dhaka, Krakow, Palma de Mallorca, Damascus and Zanzibar. The airline is also set to introduce 12 additional routes by the first quarter of 2027 as part of its continued global growth strategy.

The Abu Dhabi-based airline is scheduled to begin flights to Luxembourg and Calgary later this year, followed by the launch of services to five destinations in mainland China and several African cities, including Accra, Lagos, Kinshasa, Harare and Asmara.

Flydubai has also expanded its network this year with the addition of Aleppo, Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport and Benghazi. The carrier will further strengthen its regional connectivity with the launch of flights to Pokhara, Nepal, from September 23.

Air Arabia has further strengthened its European network with the launch of flights to Rome Fiumicino and London Gatwick, while also restarting services to Aleppo.

The expansion highlights strong demand for international travel and the ongoing growth of the UAE’s aviation sector, driven by enhanced connectivity across key markets in Europe, Asia and Africa.
