UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with António Costa, President of the European Council, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, in Évian-les-Bains on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in France. The talks focused on strengthening UAE–EU relations and advancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The discussions also addressed ongoing negotiations on a UAE–EU Strategic Partnership Agreement, emphasizing its importance in reinforcing bilateral relations and establishing a comprehensive framework for cooperation. Sheikh Mohamed and EU officials further explored opportunities for collaboration in advanced technology and artificial intelligence to support mutual development and shared prosperity.
All sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening UAE–EU relations, particularly in development-oriented sectors. In this context, they underscored ongoing negotiations on a UAE–EU Free Trade Agreement, noting that its conclusion would represent a significant step forward in bilateral trade ties.
The meeting also reviewed several issues of mutual interest, including recent developments in the Middle East.
