Dubai: Two Saudi citizens were rescued after their boat experienced a mechanical failure at sea off Yanbu governorate in the Medina region, according to border guard authorities. The General Directorate of the Border Guard said search and rescue teams responded promptly, assisted the stranded individuals, and brought the situation under control.

Saudi authorities have renewed their warning to boat owners and seafarers to comply with maritime safety regulations and ensure vessels are seaworthy before heading out.

The Border Guard urged the public to call 911 in the Makkah, Madinah and Eastern Province regions, or 994 elsewhere in the Kingdom, for maritime emergency assistance. The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of Saudi search and rescue teams along the Red Sea and Gulf coasts.
