SalamAir temporarily suspends Kuwait and Beirut routes over security concerns

Omani carrier pauses operations as attacks and evolving regional situation impact travel.

Dubai: SalamAir has temporarily suspended flights to Kuwait and Lebanon as escalating regional tensions continue to disrupt air travel across parts of the Middle East following attacks reported in both countries this week.

In a travel advisory issued on Friday, the Omani low-cost carrier said all flights between Oman and Kuwait will remain suspended until July 16, 2026, while services to and from Beirut will be halted until July 17, 2026.

The airline said the decision was made in light of ongoing regional developments, as well as safety considerations and regulatory requirements. It added that the temporary suspension is intended to ensure the safety of passengers and crew while authorities continue to monitor the evolving situation.
“SalamAir continues to closely monitor the situation and will provide updates as further information becomes available,” the airline said.

The suspension follows security incidents reported in both Kuwait and Lebanon a day earlier, raising concerns about regional stability and its potential impact on aviation operations. In response to the evolving security environment, several airlines across the region have been reassessing flight schedules and routes.

SalamAir did not say whether affected passengers would be rebooked or offered alternative travel arrangements, but advised customers to stay updated through its official communication channels.

The airline reiterated that passenger safety remains its top priority and said services will resume once conditions permit and the necessary regulatory approvals have been secured.
