RTA to launch licensing centres for new vehicle testing and registration at three locations

Date:

Dubai’s new initiative opens doors for investment while strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors.

DUBAI: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to open new technical vehicle testing and registration centres at three key locations across the emirate under a public-private partnership (PPP) scheme.

The centres will be located in Deira, Bur Dubai, and Mohammed Bin Rashid City, in line with approved regulatory standards and requirements.

The initiative also creates new investment opportunities, allowing existing operators and new investors to apply to establish centres or open additional branches in this vital sector.

Expanding services
The move aims to broaden the network of service centres through which the RTA delivers vehicle testing and registration, bringing these services closer to residents across the emirate.

It comes in response to rapid urban and population growth, as well as the expansion of commercial and investment activities across Dubai, while ensuring the sustainable and efficient delivery of vehicle licensing services.

The initiative also supports RTA’s strategy to strengthen public-private partnerships, driving economic growth in the emirate, expanding private sector participation in infrastructure development and service delivery, and continuously adopting global best practices.

RTA will assist new investors in evaluating their applications according to relevant legislation and policies. This is aimed at boosting private sector involvement in vehicle testing and registration services, enhancing inspection efficiency, and improving road safety across the community.

Integrated infrastructure
The expansion further advances RTA’s efforts to create an integrated infrastructure for vehicle testing and licensing, supporting Dubai’s broader goals to enhance road safety, improve mobility, and elevate the quality of services for residents.

It is worth noting that the number of approved service provider centres for vehicle testing and licensing in Dubai has now reached 29, strategically distributed across the emirate.

These centres are equipped with advanced technologies and staffed by qualified personnel to deliver high-quality services that meet customer needs in line with international standards. They also provide a seamless service experience, reflecting Dubai’s commitment to streamlined procedures and enhanced government service efficiency.
