A major fire erupts at Kuwait International Airport following Iranian drone attacks.

Date:

Kuwait says Iran‑linked drones struck fuel storage facilities at Kuwait International Airport, sparking a large fire, and has accused Iran‑backed armed groups of carrying out the attack on the airport’s fuel tanks.

Dubai: Kuwait’s Civil Aviation Authority reported on Wednesday that Kuwait International Airport was hit in a drone attack, targeting fuel storage tanks and igniting a major fire. No casualties have been reported.

Abdullah Al Rajhi, the authority’s official spokesman, stated that the attack was carried out by Iran and its allied armed groups, calling it a “blatant assault” on the airport.

He added that the drones struck fuel tanks belonging to Kuwait Aviation Fuel Company (KAFCO), causing a large fire at the facility.

Emergency teams were promptly deployed to contain the fire, with initial reports suggesting that the damage was limited to material losses.

Authorities are continuing to evaluate the full impact of the incident amid ongoing regional tensions.
