Man wears abaya, niqab to steal Dh227,000 in Dubai.

Date:

He was arrested just four hours after he committed the crime.

The Dubai Police have arrested a man who donned a traditional Emirati abaya (full-length outer garment worn by women) and niqab (face cover) to steal Dh227,000. The police said the Asian was arrested within four hours after he stole the money from the company he worked for.

According to the director of the Naif Police Station, Brigadier Tariq Tehlak, the suspect stole Dh146,000 and $22,000 and “left no evidence behind”. “The thief had left no fingerprints and used napkins to open the drawers and steal the cash.”

Since there were no signs of forced entry at the crime scene, the police started investigating the company’s employees.

Brig. Tehlak said they utilised “body language analysis and criminal profiling” of the suspect’s movement to identify the man and singled him out among the other employees.

The stolen money was retrieved and returned to the company’s owner.
