Major European Airline to Run Limited Flights to Dubai

What Travellers Should Do If Their Flight Is Cancelled

KLM Resumes Daytime Flights to Dubai

One of Europe’s largest airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, has announced that it is resuming daytime flights between Amsterdam and Dubai. The airline, based at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, had previously cancelled multiple flights to Dubai International Airport at the end of January due to regional security concerns.

In a travel update, KLM confirmed that it will operate daylight flights only between the two cities until at least Sunday, March 1, maintaining an adjusted schedule between these major international hubs.

Passengers booked to fly via Dubai or Amsterdam between Friday, January 23, and Sunday, March 1, can rebook their flights, request a refund, or claim unforeseen expenses. Some travellers may have already been automatically rebooked onto alternate flights.

KLM stated that it is closely monitoring the situation and will adjust its flight schedules as necessary. The airline had previously announced on Saturday, January 24, that it would temporarily suspend flights to Dubai, Riyadh, Dammam, and Tel Aviv.

European Airlines Adjust Dubai Flight Schedules

KLM’s announcement comes after several precautionary flight cancellations to the region by major European carriers.

Its sister airline, Transavia, has suspended flights to Dubai through Sunday, March 15. Air France briefly halted service to DXB but resumed operations on Saturday, January 24. Meanwhile, Emirates recently cancelled flights to several US destinations—including New York, Washington DC, Boston, Dallas, and Newark—due to Storm Fern.

Passengers affected by KLM’s ongoing suspension of flights to Dubai can rebook their tickets or request a full refund at no extra cost. The airline is currently rebooking travellers scheduled to fly to Dubai between Friday, January 23, and Sunday, February 15.
