Maid dies after falling from fourth floor of building in UAE

Date:

The Sharjah Police have started probe into the death of a 31-year-old Ethiopian housemaid, who fell from the fourth floor of a building in Al Qasimiya area.

According to the police, the deceased, identified as Teshay Mohammed Saeed, was working for an Iranian family.

The police received a call in the morning on the first day of Eid Al Fitr, reporting the incident. A police team rushed to the scene and found the woman lying in a pool of blood, with her cloth bag beside her.

She was already dead because of internal bleeding and skull fracture, said the police, adding that the Iranian family was taken into custody for interrogation. The body of the deceased was transferred to the forensic laboratory for autopsy.

A neighbourhood shopkeeper told the police that he knew the victim for one year as she used to visit the shop.
