Indian passport renewal in the UAE: How to book your appointment

Date:

The Indian mission in the UAE will no longer accept walk-in requests for passport renewal services, according to a notice issued earlier this month.

The Indian Consulate in the UAE issued a new notice on Friday, July 10, outlining the updated process for Indian expatriates to book passport renewal appointments.

The announcement follows a legal dispute involving Tours & Travels, which confirmed that the rollout of its Consular, Passport and Visa (CPV) services in the UAE has been temporarily postponed until further notice, following official communication from the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi.

The services, which were initially scheduled to begin on July 1, have been deferred due to “administrative reasons” as communicated by the embassy.

The Indian mission in the UAE also confirmed in a notice issued earlier this month that walk-in applications for passport renewal services will no longer be accepted.

How to book an appointment online

Indian expatriates in the UAE can follow these steps to schedule a passport renewal appointment:

  1. Visit the online appointment portal: book.passportindiauae.com
  2. Create an account using your name, email address and password.
  3. Verify your email address.
  4. Log in to your account.
  5. Select your consular jurisdiction — either the Consulate General of India in Dubai or the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi.
  6. Enter the required details and choose an available appointment slot.
  7. Confirm your booking.

In a notice issued on July 10, the authority also clarified that BLS International and SGIVS Global are no longer authorised to provide consular services.

Applicants should note that the passport renewal application form must be completed online before booking an appointment. A printed copy of the completed form should also be carried when visiting for the appointment.
