Reports: Long-time Ras Al Khaimah resident suspected of killing wife before taking his own life.

Ras Al Khaimah: A couple in their 60s, long-time residents of Ras Al Khaimah for more than 40 years, were found dead at their home in Kerala, India, just hours before they were scheduled to board a flight back to the UAE, according to Indian media reports.

The couple is survived by their two children, who also reside in the UAE.

The family, known for operating a construction company in Ras Al Khaimah along with other businesses in Kerala, regularly divided their time between the UAE and India.

During this visit, the couple had planned a brief stay in Kerala and had booked tickets to return to Ras Al Khaimah on Saturday evening.

When the couple failed to wake up on Saturday morning, concerned relatives repeatedly knocked on their door but received no response, prompting them to alert authorities, reports said.

According to reports, when officials entered the bedroom, the husband was found hanging, while the wife was discovered unconscious on the bed.

Reports suggest the husband is suspected of killing his wife before taking his own life. Some media reports indicated that the woman may have died from suffocation, although the exact cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed.

Police have not disclosed a motive and reportedly stated that no suicide note was found.

Buried instead of cremated

After the post-mortem procedures were completed, the bodies were handed over to the family.

The couple was buried on Sunday rather than cremated, an uncommon practice among Hindu families.

Reports said the decision to bury the bodies instead of cremating them was made deliberately to preserve the remains in case further forensic examination is required by investigators.
