She found an envelope and thought it was trash.

An airport employee from the Philippines, who earns Php18,000 a month, did not think twice when she found an envelope with $4,700 (Dh17,000 approx) in it.

Emiline Herrera, who works at a food counter at Terminal 1 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), found an envelope and thought it was trash. When she opened the envelope she was surprised to find $4,700 inside, reported TFT.

Herrera who has been working at the airport for three decades, decided to return the money right away because she believed the owner might be in need of it. Finally, the envelope’s rightful owner was traced based on the lost and found section at the airport.

Airport General Manager, Ed Monreal, also lauded Herrera for her honesty.
