Authorities state that window tint should be limited to 30 per cent, with fines for violations.

Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Traffic has warned motorists against violating vehicle window tint regulations, stating that offenders may face fines ranging from SR500 to SR900. The authority added that rear window tinting is permitted, provided it does not exceed 30 per cent, a limit designed to balance privacy with road safety while reducing heat inside vehicles and protecting occupants from sunlight.
Tinting above the allowed limit on the front windscreen is banned due to its potential impact on visibility and road safety, the department said.
Under the regulations, tinting is permitted on front side and rear windows provided it remains sufficiently transparent and does not obstruct the driver’s vision. Authorities also ban reflective or mirror-like films, as well as images, stickers, or decorative materials on vehicle glass that could affect visibility.
