Abu Dhabi: Emirates National Schools has announced the opening of applications for its Scholarship Programme for Outstanding and Talented Students for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The initiative reflects the schools’ long-standing commitment to nurturing academically and nationally distinguished students capable of competing, innovating and making meaningful contributions to society and the nation.

It also highlights the schools’ dedication to providing equal educational opportunities for high-achieving and gifted students, enabling them to develop their abilities in an advanced and inspiring learning environment.

Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Secretary General of the Presidential Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emirates National Schools, said the programme reflects the leadership’s vision of supporting and nurturing national talent.

Positive competitive environment
He added that the continued implementation of the scholarship programme demonstrates its success in achieving its goals, both in attracting high-performing students and in fostering a positive, competitive environment within the schools.

He stated: “The programme has demonstrated its positive impact in previous cycles by attracting academically outstanding and talented students. It has also contributed to strengthening a healthy spirit of competition within the school community and encouraging students to maintain high levels of performance, achievement and commitment. We believe that true investment begins with the student, and supporting outstanding and gifted students is a direct investment in the future of the nation.”

Lachlan MacKinnon, Director General of Emirates National Schools, said the scholarship programme is one of the institution’s key initiatives, helping attract academically excellent and talented students across various fields.

Scholarships
He added that this is reflected in past recipients, many of whom have achieved strong academic results, taken part in national-level scientific, athletic and artistic competitions, and stood out in leadership, volunteering and community service.

Some have also secured distinguished university admission opportunities both within the country and internationally.

Emirates National Schools first launched the programme in the 2023–2024 academic year, offering 100 scholarships covering between 25% and 100% of tuition fees for students from Grade 6 to Grade 12 under the categories of academic merit and talent.

A total of 175 students from diverse nationalities have benefited from the initiative so far.

The current cycle continues to target the same categories, focusing on students with strong academic records or notable achievements in science, technology, literature, the arts, sports and community engagement.

Excellence
The schools also aim to strengthen partnerships with parents, institutions and relevant entities to enhance the quality of education and meet the aspirations of students and their families.

This further strengthens the role of Emirates National Schools as a nurturing environment for excellence and a key partner in supporting the United Arab Emirates’s vision of building human capital, empowering promising national talent, and preparing future leaders to drive the country’s development.

The schools have invited students to apply through their official website or via the Scholarships page, where they can review the programme’s terms and eligibility criteria.

Applications will remain open until June 30, 2026. The schools have also provided a dedicated email address for inquiries and communication with different branches.
