Dubai Ride 2026 Is Free, but a Bib Is Required: How to Register and Get Ready.

Dubai: Sheikh Zayed Road will trade cars for bicycles this Sunday, November 1, as Dubai Ride returns for the opening weekend of the Dubai Fitness Challenge.
The free event features two routes: a 12km ride along Sheikh Zayed Road and a 4km family-friendly loop through Downtown Dubai. Participants will cycle past landmarks such as the Museum of the Future, Dubai Water Canal, Burj Khalifa and Dubai Opera.
However, riders cannot simply show up with a bicycle. Registration is mandatory. Here is what you need to know about signing up, collecting your bib, renting a bike, parking and Salik.
- When: Sunday, November 1; routes open at 6.15am
- Where: Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown Dubai
- Cost: Free, but registration is required

How to register
Although Dubai Ride is free, all participants must register in advance. According to the official Dubai Fitness Challenge FAQs, registration is compulsory for safety and security reasons.
To sign up, visit the Dubai Ride page on the Dubai Fitness Challenge website and select Register.
Log in or create a Dubai Fitness Challenge account using your email address, or sign in through Google or Facebook.
Next, select your preferred route and starting gate. Choose carefully, as registrations cannot be edited. If you later want to change your route or gate, you must cancel your existing registration and sign up again.
You can also request a free event T-shirt during registration.
Once you have registered, you will receive a QR code that you must present to collect your rider bib.
Every adult must register separately, as group registrations are not permitted. If you plan to ride with friends, organisers recommend choosing the same starting gate and arranging to meet at the event.
Parents and legal guardians can register up to three children. For participants under 18, a parent or guardian must accept the registration waiver on their behalf.

Is there a registration deadline?
No official registration closing date has been announced. However, a rider bib is compulsory, and bib collection closes on Saturday, October 31. Participants should therefore register in time to collect their bib before the event.
Collecting your bib and T-shirt
Rider bibs and T-shirts are available for collection at the Dubai Municipality 30×30 Fitness Village in Zabeel Park from Wednesday, October 28, to Saturday, October 31. Collection timings are provided during registration.
Bring your registration QR code when collecting your bib. A friend or family member can collect it on your behalf by presenting your QR code.
Riders without bibs will not be allowed to participate. Lost bibs cannot be replaced, so participants who lose theirs must register again and collect a new one.
Which route should you choose?
12km Sheikh Zayed Road route: Designed for more experienced cyclists, this route passes landmarks including the Museum of the Future, Dubai Water Canal and Burj Khalifa. Riders can choose from five starting gates: Museum of the Future, Al Satwa, Coca-Cola Arena, Business Bay and Lower Financial Street. Participants must finish at the gate assigned to their starting point.
4km Downtown Family route: This flat loop passes Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and Burj Khalifa. It is designed for children, families and cyclists of all ability levels.
Detailed route maps are provided to registered participants.

Timings on the day
Plan to arrive between 4am and 6am. If you cycle to the event in low-light conditions, ensure your bicycle is equipped with a headlight.
The routes open at 6.15am, with all riders required to start by 7.30am. The routes remain open until 8am.
Dubai Ride is not a race, and no timing is recorded. A speed limit of 25km/h applies throughout the routes.
Who can take part?
Dubai Ride is open to participants of all ages. However, parents should ensure that younger cyclists can safely complete their chosen route. All participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
People of determination are also welcome, with dedicated entry points for adapted bicycles, handcycles and tandem bikes. Further information is provided during registration.
Which bikes are allowed?
Road bikes, hybrid bikes, mountain bikes and children’s bicycles are permitted, provided they are in good working condition. Tandem bikes are also allowed, while younger children can ride in bicycle seats or trailers.
Pedal-assisted electric bikes are permitted, but electric scooters, electric motorbikes and other motorised vehicles are prohibited.
What to bring and wear
A properly functioning bicycle, a helmet and an attached rider bib are mandatory. Helmets are required for all participants, including children travelling in bicycle seats or trailers.
Wear comfortable sportswear and closed-toe sports shoes. Temperatures may feel cool before sunrise but are likely to rise as the morning progresses.
Bring a filled water bottle. Mai Dubai hydration stations will be available along the routes for refills.
Avoid bringing large bags, as there are no changing rooms or bag-drop facilities. Pets are also not permitted at the event.

Do I need to rent a bike?
Participants must bring their own bicycles, as organisers will not provide rental bikes at the event. They recommend contacting local cycling shops or bicycle rental services to make arrangements.
Last year, the RTA and Careem Bike offered free rentals to Dubai Ride participants through a promotional code on the Careem app, with temporary rental stations near two starting gates. No similar offer has been announced for this year, so check the Careem app and RTA’s social media channels for updates.
Getting there
Organisers recommend travelling to the event by bicycle, car or public transport. However, bicycles are not permitted on the Dubai Metro, so participants bringing their own bikes should plan their journey accordingly.
Parking near the starting gates is limited.
Public transport services are expected to operate as normal. Last year, the RTA extended Dubai Metro operating hours for the event, running services from 3am until midnight. No extension has been announced for this year so far.
Road closures and Salik
Roads along and around the routes will be closed on Sunday. Participants and motorists should follow the RTA’s official social media channels for the latest traffic updates.
Last year, Sheikh Zayed Road was closed between Trade Centre Roundabout and Al Hadiqa Bridge from 3am to 10am. Closures also affected Lower Financial Centre Street and part of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard.
Salik toll rates may also be adjusted for the event. On a regular Sunday, drivers pay a flat Dh4.20 per crossing throughout the day, including 5 per cent VAT. However, toll rates can change during major events.
During last year’s Dubai Ride, Salik charged the peak rate of Dh6 between 6am and 10am, rather than the usual Sunday rate of Dh4. The rate was Dh4 from 10am to 1am, while crossings were free between 1am and 6am. Salik has not yet announced its rates for this Sunday.
On the route
Fixed and mobile bicycle mechanics will be stationed along the route to carry out minor repairs. If you encounter a problem, approach the nearest event marshal, identifiable by a green and blue jersey.
Medical support will be available throughout the route. If you need assistance, contact the nearest marshal or medic, or call 901.
Toilets will be available at the starting and finishing gates, although organisers recommend using the facilities before leaving home.
