Dubai: Dubai Holding has become the largest shareholder in Emaar Properties after acquiring a 22.27% equity stake from the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), the companies announced on Tuesday.
The transaction raises Dubai Holding’s total stake in the Dubai-listed developer to 29.73%, making it the largest shareholder in Emaar. While financial details were not disclosed, the move was described as a strategic consolidation reflecting confidence in Emaar’s asset strength and the broader fundamentals of Dubai’s real estate market.

The transaction marks a shift in the ownership structure of one of the region’s leading real estate developers. Emaar Properties maintains a diversified portfolio spanning the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.
According to company officials, the acquisition reflects Dubai Holding’s confidence in Emaar Properties’ long-term growth prospects and the continued strength of Dubai’s economy. It also reinforces the long-standing partnership between the two entities, which have jointly worked on several high-profile projects over the past two decades.
The acquisition further strengthens Dubai Holding’s diversified global portfolio, valued at over Dh500 billion, with investments across real estate, hospitality, entertainment, retail, and media in more than 30 countries.
