“Heavy fog in Dubai on the morning of February 24 has caused delays for some Emirates arrivals and departures at Dubai International Airport,” an Emirates spokesperson told

Flight disruptions
Dubai’s flagship carrier Emirates advised passengers to check flight statuses online. “Emirates apologises for the inconvenience caused. The safety of our passengers and crew is of utmost importance and will not be compromised,” the airline said in a statement.

flydubai also reported a number of delays and diversions. “The weather conditions in Dubai on February 24 have resulted in select flights being delayed or diverted. We are doing all we can to minimise disruption to our passengers’ travel schedules and are coordinating with all relevant stakeholders,” a spokesperson said. “The safety of our passengers and crew is our highest priority. We apologise for any inconvenience the weather conditions may have caused.”

Eyewitnesses at Sharjah Airport reported at least 28 flights were delayed due to the dense fog, primarily affecting Air Arabia flights, with some routes rescheduled by Indigo and Air India Express among other international carriers.
