The Abu Dhabi Police stressed that a fine of Dh1,000 will be imposed on a driver if he had more than three individuals in his vehicle, adding that such limit is only for taxis and motorists who get passengers in their cabs. Members of the same family should not be worried about this limitation, the police noted.

Similar announcements have also been made by Sharjah and Dubai Police departments.

The Sharjah police announced that members of the same family or first-degree relatives are allowed to get in the same vehicle without getting fined for violating the three-people limit.

The Director General of the Dubai Police Traffic Department, also said that vehicles with family members or first-class relatives have been excluded from a fine for exceeding the number of passengers allowed in one vehicle. The limit for which had been set to three members earlier. The announcement regarding the same has been mad on the official Facebook page of Dubai Police.
