Growing demand underscores efforts to better support international investors and businesses.

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has processed nearly 10,000 English-language notary transactions over the past 15 months, reflecting rising demand for services designed to meet the needs of international users and investors.

This milestone was achieved through the English Notary Services Bureau, which offers legal services in English to individuals and businesses both inside and outside the UAE.

Officials said the figures underscore Abu Dhabi’s ongoing efforts to enhance access to legal services and strengthen the business environment.

Rising demand

According to official data, the bureau processed 8,160 transactions in 2025, serving clients representing 123 nationalities. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, it completed an additional 1,757 transactions.

This steady growth reflects increasing demand for English-language legal services, particularly among investors and companies engaged with international partners.

Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of ADJD, said the progress reflects the leadership’s vision of building a modern and efficient justice system.

He added that the department continues to roll out services that are more accessible and aligned with international best practices.

Supporting the business environment

Al Abri noted that the expansion of English-language notary services helps meet the needs of the business community by making legal procedures clearer and more accessible.

He added that the department is focused on delivering smooth and accurate services that strengthen trust and support investment activity in Abu Dhabi.

The services cover a range of legal processes, including issuing powers of attorney, notarising company documents, as well as processing declarations and board resolutions, among others.

Focus on digital services

The department also underscored its commitment to digital transformation, with a growing number of services now accessible remotely.

This enables users to complete transactions without the need to visit service centres, saving time and enhancing convenience, particularly for international clients.

Officials said the shift towards fully digital services is designed to improve user experience while maintaining the security and reliability of legal procedures.

Regional first

The English Notary Services Bureau is regarded as one of the first initiatives of its kind in the region, offering a specialised model that integrates legal services with digital access.

Authorities said such initiatives reinforce Abu Dhabi’s position as a global business hub by making legal services more accessible, efficient, and investor-friendly.

They added that the ongoing enhancement of smart services will remain a key priority, aligned with efforts to support investors and further improve the ease of doing business in the emirate.
