Abu Dhabi bans trucks during New Year’s Eve

Abu Dhabi Police have announced that trucks will not be permitted to enter Abu Dhabi Island during the New Year’s Eve.

According to a statement issued on social media, Integrated Transport Centre in Abu Dhabi said that trucks are not allowed onĀ Abu Dhabi Island/Yas IslandĀ  from Tuesday, December 31 toĀ  Wednesday, January 1, 2019.

The move is part of wider efforts to improve traffic safety, reduce accidents and help the flow of traffic, according to the statement.

Traffic patrols would be intensified and key roads will also be monitored.Ā  The authorities alsoĀ  called on road users to exercise caution while driving to avoid traffic accidents and act responsibly on the road.
