Ruby Patel, Indian theatre veteran and wife of Khaleej Times’ former Worldwide Advertising Director Burjor Patel, has passed away in Mumbai. She was 86.
The Patel couple made an impressive impact in the media sector in the UAE during Burjor’s 20-year tenure in the newspaper, helping it along its journey to becoming a media powerhouse. They also contributed in great measure to the arts scene in Dubai.
Ruby was a stellar theatre artist and performed in several English and Gujarati plays. Their daughter Shernaz is a renowned Indian theatre and TV actress and son Marzban is the CEO of Mediascope, a content and media sales corporation in India.
