UAE weather: Three days of expected rainfall as temperatures climb to 38°C

Date:

NCM predicts rainfall across eastern and northern regions, alongside fog, high humidity and dusty conditions.

Dubai: Rain is expected across parts of the UAE from Tuesday through Friday, with temperatures forecast to reach 38°C and humidity levels rising to 90 per cent, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The NCM said convective cloud formations could develop over eastern and northern parts of the country on Tuesday, bringing the possibility of rainfall. Similar weather conditions are expected to persist through Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The forecast signals several days of unsettled weather, with intermittent chances of rain, humid nights and relatively high daytime temperatures across the UAE. The conditions are being driven by an extension of a surface low-pressure system, accompanied by a weak upper-air low-pressure system.

Despite the arrival of November, temperatures will remain relatively warm during the day, ranging from 35°C to 38°C in inland areas and 33°C to 36°C along coastal regions and islands. Mountain temperatures are expected to range between 23°C and 31°C.

Humidity could reach 90 per cent across coastal and inland areas, increasing the possibility of fog and mist overnight and during the early hours of Wednesday.

Winds are expected to be light to moderate, occasionally becoming fresh, with speeds ranging from 10 to 25 km/h and reaching up to 35 km/h in some areas.

The Arabian Gulf is expected to remain slight to moderate at times, while conditions in the Oman Sea will generally be slight.

Rain chances to continue through Friday

On Wednesday, skies are expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with convective clouds potentially bringing rainfall to eastern and northern areas. Humidity will increase overnight, with fog or mist possible on Thursday morning.

Thursday will bring another possibility of afternoon showers across eastern and northern regions. Coastal areas are also likely to experience increased humidity overnight and into Friday morning.

On Friday, rain-bearing clouds could once again develop over eastern and northern parts of the country during the afternoon.

Winds may strengthen to speeds of up to 40 km/h on Friday, potentially triggering blowing dust, particularly in areas experiencing cloud activity.

By Saturday, conditions are forecast to remain generally fair to partly cloudy, although convective cloud formations may develop over eastern areas during the afternoon.

The NCM expects winds to reach speeds of up to 35 km/h on Saturday, while sea conditions are forecast to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
