Travellers who have visited Kenya or Ebola-affected countries within the past 21 days are prohibited from entering Saudi Arabia..

Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has suspended travel by its citizens to Kenya, stopped issuing all categories of visas to travellers arriving from the country and barred their entry into the Kingdom as part of additional measures to prevent the spread of Ebola, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The restrictions, introduced after the Kingdom’s health authorities assessed the epidemiological situation, also cover travellers transiting through third countries if they have stayed in Kenya or other Ebola-affected countries within the 21 days before arriving in Saudi Arabia.
The latest measures build on preventive restrictions first introduced in July 2019 and expanded in May 2026 for travellers arriving from countries facing Ebola outbreak risks.
Saudi authorities said the decision reflected a proactive approach based on continuous monitoring and assessment of health risks, as well as coordination with national and international agencies to safeguard citizens, residents and visitors.
In June 2026, Saudi Arabia also suspended travel by its citizens to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and South Sudan and restricted arrivals from those countries over Ebola concerns.
The Kingdom further strengthened precautions for travellers arriving from countries bordering outbreak areas. These included health screenings at entry points, epidemiological investigations and early-response procedures.
The Saudi Public Health Authority, known as Weqaya, said the health situation within the Kingdom remained stable and was under close, ongoing surveillance.
It added that it was monitoring epidemiological developments regionally and internationally in coordination with relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia and abroad.
Weqaya said additional preventive measures would be introduced whenever required in response to changes in the epidemiological situation, with the aim of maintaining the Kingdom’s health preparedness and protecting public health and safety.
