Sheikh Mohammed invites Saudi Crown Prince to UN Water Conference 2026

Date:

The UAE and Senegal will co-host the conference in Abu Dhabi from December 8 to 10.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has sent a written invitation to Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, to attend the UN Water Conference 2026. The UAE and the Republic of Senegal will co-host the event in Abu Dhabi from December 8 to 10, 2026.

Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khereiji, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, received the letter from Matar Salem Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, during a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Riyadh.

If the visit goes ahead, it would be Prince Mohammed’s first trip to the UAE since a private visit on December 1, 2024. He was welcomed at the airport by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The two leaders later met at Al Rawda Palace in Al Ain, where they held talks reflecting the longstanding fraternal ties between the two countries. The President also hosted a dinner in honour of Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
