Over 140 security guards trained to manage traffic during peak school hours.
Dubai Police has conducted a series of traffic safety training sessions for more than 140 security guards from 35 schools across Dubai.
The training focused on helping guards manage traffic more efficiently around school premises and enhance student safety during peak drop-off and pick-up periods.
Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said the programme reflects the force’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with schools and other institutions to promote safer traffic conditions.
He said the training would equip security guards to handle minor traffic-related incidents on school premises and take appropriate measures until the relevant authorities arrive.
Training focused on practical scenarios
The sessions, led by First Warrant Officer Ahmed Mohammad Khalaf, focused on common traffic incidents that can occur in and around school premises.
Participants learned how to report minor traffic accidents through the Dubai Police smart app, ‘We Are All Police’. The training also covered traffic signs, road safety regulations and measures to help maintain a smooth flow of vehicles during busy school hours.
The guards also participated in practical exercises based on situations they may encounter while on duty. These included handling minor accidents and managing traffic around school entrances and exits.
The training also focused on ensuring students can safely board and disembark from school buses. Participants were trained to respond calmly and effectively to traffic or security emergencies while taking steps to protect students until police officers or other emergency responders arrive.
