ADIHEX 2026 showcases falconry, equestrian sports, traditional crafts and family activities.
Abu Dhabi: Falcons valued at up to Dh1 million are among the major attractions at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) 2026, which entered its second day on Saturday.
The exhibition has attracted a strong public turnout, with visitors exploring 15 sectors spanning falconry, equestrian sports, camels, hunting equipment, veterinary services, safari tourism, marine activities, recreational vehicles, traditional crafts and environmental conservation.
Families can also participate in a range of educational and creative workshops, while a dedicated children’s area gives younger visitors an introduction to Emirati heritage, falconry, traditional crafts and local customs.
Falcons valued at up to Dh1 million
Falconry continues to be one of the key attractions at the 23rd edition of the exhibition, with local and international breeders showcasing a variety of falcon breeds along with specialised equipment.
Falcons of the Gulf, making its debut at the exhibition, is showcasing a selection of birds priced between Dh25,000 and Dh30,000, according to its Director, Khalifa Hamad Al Romaithi.
At Al Dhafra Falcons Foundation, falcon prices vary from Dh1,000 to as much as Dh1 million, depending on the bird’s species, type and specifications.
The foundation is showcasing several varieties, including pure gyrfalcons, gyr-shahin and hybrid falcons, along with specialised equipment used for training, hunting and racing.
KZ Falcons is also showcasing falcons imported from Germany, including a selection of purebred birds.
Dh1.77 million generated from falcon auctions
Falcon auctions have also seen strong demand ahead of the exhibition.
Four auctions held before ADIHEX brought in Dh1.772 million from the sale of 26 falcons.
The highest individual sale reached Dh255,000 for a pure gyrfalcon.
Four more auctions are scheduled to take place during the exhibition over the weekends, with buyers able to participate either in person or online.
Global heritage on display
Beyond falconry, ADIHEX is featuring a diverse programme of international cultural performances, including shows by the Hungarian National Equestrian Theatre, African cultural performances, Japanese Taiko drumming and acts inspired by South American traditions.
Visitors can also explore traditional Emirati crafts and practices, including Arabic coffee preparation, pottery, palm-frond weaving and embroidery.
Tadweer Group is showcasing its “Heritage of Sustainability” experience, highlighting the link between traditional Emirati practices and the responsible use of resources.
The group is also highlighting its waste-to-energy and material recovery initiatives as part of efforts to divert 80% of solid waste from landfills and other disposal facilities by 2031.
ADIHEX 2026 will continue at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi through September 6.
