Abu Dhabi food authority shuts cafe over public health and food safety concerns.
The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has ordered the temporary closure of The Original Lessi Cafe – Sole Proprietorship L.L.C. – Branch in Abu Dhabi following repeated food safety violations.
The café, operating under Commercial Licence No. CN-2625289-2, was found to have breached Abu Dhabi’s food safety law, Law No. 2 of 2008, and related regulations. The violations were deemed to pose a risk to public health.
Repeated food safety violations
ADAFSA said its food control inspections identified repeated safety violations at the café, while the establishment failed to take effective corrective action to address the issues.
The authority said the violations required immediate action to safeguard food safety and protect consumers’ health.
When can the café reopen?
ADAFSA said the café will remain closed until the issues that led to the closure have been addressed and the grounds for the decision no longer exist.
The café can reopen once it has addressed all violations, met the required conditions for operating the business and resolved the issues that prompted the closure.
