The platform has recorded 143,720 visitors while tracking prices across 13 leading retailers.

Dubai: UAE shoppers can compare prices of 8,343 essential products across 525 outlets from 13 major retailers through the Ministry of Economy and Tourism’s Essential Goods Prices Platform.
The platform, launched in April, attracted approximately 143,720 visitors between mid-April and July 2026, averaging more than 1,451 daily visits.
Consumers can use the pricing data to compare products across participating retailers before making purchasing decisions, while the ministry uses the information to track price trends and identify changes that may require further assessment.
More products and retailers planned
The ministry plans to expand the platform by adding more products and participating retail outlets, providing shoppers with a wider selection of prices to compare.
Pricing data collected through the system is also used to generate periodic analyses of price fluctuations across UAE retailers and evaluate the factors influencing market trends.
The platform integrates digital monitoring with field inspections, enabling authorities to track market developments through up-to-date pricing information and key indicators.
As part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance market oversight, the Essential Goods Prices Platform serves as an advanced digital tool for monitoring prices, tracking changes in price levels, and analysing market movements with greater consistency and accuracy. It supports continuous monitoring of market developments, helps identify emerging trends and patterns requiring further review, and strengthens the Ministry’s ability to respond efficiently to changes affecting market dynamics.
Safeya Al Safi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Control and Commercial Governance Sector at the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, said the platform has improved the Ministry’s capacity to monitor market conditions and respond effectively to developments.
According to the Ministry, retailers across the UAE continue to maintain adequate supplies of goods while offering consumers a wide range of products and alternatives.
Data supports consumer protection
The ministry said the platform’s data and statistics are helping strengthen consumer protection measures by providing shoppers with more accurate and transparent information to support their purchasing decisions.
Regular analysis of pricing trends also contributes to policy development related to market oversight, retail pricing, and consumer protection.
