Joint enforcement operation uncovers and confiscates counterfeit medicines, food products and other illegal goods.
Dubai: Authorities in Jeddah have closed 18 illegal warehouses as part of a joint enforcement campaign targeting unauthorised storage and distribution operations in the southern areas of the city.
The Jeddah Mayoralty stated that the operation, conducted in coordination with multiple government agencies, uncovered a sealed facility being used for the storage and distribution of goods in breach of municipal regulations.
Officials seized a variety of goods during the operation, including clothing, furniture, honey, perfumes, food items, and counterfeit products containing unauthorised medical claims.
The facilities included nine warehouses storing clothing, two honey production units, two furniture warehouses, and separate warehouses for food products, mobile phone accessories, perfumes, and items making unauthorised medical claims.
The mayoralty said legal proceedings have been launched against those responsible.
The campaign was carried out in coordination with several government entities, including the Ministry of Commerce, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, Civil Defense, and the Field Control Department.
The mayoralty encouraged residents to report municipal violations through the Baladi application or the unified hotline (940), stressing that public cooperation plays an important role in improving compliance and safeguarding public health and safety.
