UAE widens its lead in the race to build the world’s tallest towers.

The UAE continues to strengthen its position at the forefront of the global skyscraper race, fuelled largely by private investment and ambitious real estate projects.
As of July 2026, six of the world’s 20 tallest buildings currently under construction are located in Dubai, further cementing the emirate’s status as the Middle East’s skyscraper capital, according to the Skyscraper Center.
By the end of the decade, Dubai is expected to welcome several new supertall towers exceeding 500 metres in height, further expanding its lead as the city with the world’s largest concentration of ultra-tall buildings outside China.
All 10 of the tallest skyscrapers currently under construction in the UAE are located in Dubai, highlighting the emirate’s continued investment in luxury real estate, tourism and large-scale urban development, according to the Skyscraper Center.
World-leading projects
Several Dubai developments rank among the tallest buildings currently rising anywhere in the world. Projects such as Burj Azizi, Burj Binghatti, Tiger Sky Tower and Six Senses Residences are pushing the boundaries of height, design and luxury, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a global hub for supertall skyscrapers.
The luxury branding boom is also reshaping Dubai’s skyline. Many upcoming towers are being developed in partnership with internationally recognised luxury names such as Jacob & Co., Mercedes-Benz, Franck Muller, Rixos, Six Senses and Trump Tower, reflecting Dubai’s strategy of attracting ultra-high-net-worth buyers and positioning itself as a global destination for premium real estate.
Most of these projects combine luxury residences with five-star hotels, observation decks, fine-dining venues and high-end retail spaces, creating mixed-use developments designed to maximise land value while boosting tourism appeal.
