British Airways updates Dubai travel notice, keeps travel flexibility measures in place through October 31

Date:

Dubai passengers offered refund and rebooking options until October 31.

Dubai: Passengers travelling with British Airways have been given extra time to adjust their plans, after the airline extended its Middle East travel flexibility policy until October 31, 2026. The extension allows Dubai-bound travellers to cancel or modify their bookings under the updated options.

The airline’s earlier update on May 19 covered adjustments to its summer schedule until October 24. Under the latest advisory, eligible passengers travelling to or from Dubai and other regional destinations will now have access to refund and rebooking options through October 31.

Passengers can request a full refund even if their flights remain scheduled to operate, while those choosing to postpone their journey can change their bookings without paying any amendment fees.

Travel flexibility extended by one week

British Airways had earlier reduced or suspended several Middle East services during the summer schedule, which was set to run until October 24. The latest update extends the travel flexibility measures by seven days, covering eligible journeys through October 31.

Flights between London and Dubai were previously reduced from three daily services to one, with British Airways stating that the regular daily schedule was expected to resume on August 1, followed by the return of a second daily service from October 16.

The latest update does not include any further changes to the Dubai flight schedule. Instead, it extends the period during which eligible passengers can request refunds or make booking changes by one week, moving the deadline from October 24 to October 31.

The refund policy applies to eligible tickets for journeys between February 28 and October 31 involving destinations including Abu Dhabi, Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Tel Aviv and Riyadh.

Refunds available even if flights operate

Eligible passengers can request a full refund even if their scheduled flight has not been cancelled.

Customers travelling from June 2 can also choose to move their journey to a later date on the same route or rebook on another British Airways service without paying a change fee. However, any difference in fare will still apply.

The rebooking option is available to passengers originally scheduled to travel on or before October 31 to or from Abu Dhabi, Amman, Bahrain, Doha, Dubai, Tel Aviv, Jeddah and Riyadh.

British Airways said it is contacting affected customers directly with details of the updated policy and the options available to them.

“Your safety is always our highest priority, and we would never operate a flight unless it was safe to do so,” the airline said.

Singapore Airlines cancellations continue until October 24

Singapore Airlines has separately confirmed that SQ494 (Singapore to Dubai) and SQ495 (Dubai to Singapore) will remain cancelled until October 24.

Affected passengers can request a full refund for the unused portion of their tickets. The airline has also advised travellers to regularly check their flight status, as additional services could be affected.

Singapore Airlines updated its travel advisory at 4pm Singapore time on July 15.
