Morning rush hour causes severe congestion on Sharjah–Dubai routes, leading to major delays.

Dubai: Heavy congestion was reported across several key routes on Wednesday morning, June 24, as commuters faced delays on major highways connecting Sharjah and Dubai.

Traffic was particularly heavy on Emirates Road in the Dubai-bound direction near the Sharjah Grand Mosque area, with vehicles moving slowly during peak hours.

In Sharjah, Beirut Street near Madina Mall experienced significant congestion, while delays were also reported on Al Ittihad Road towards Dubai near Al Mulla Plaza Shopping Centre.

Motorists additionally encountered slow-moving traffic on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road in the Dubai-bound direction near National Paints in Industrial Area 13, as well as on Al Wahda Street near Sharjah Tower.

Authorities continue to urge motorists to exercise caution during the summer months. In a reminder posted on X, Dubai Police advised drivers to carry out essential vehicle checks before undertaking long journeys.

“Drivers should inspect their vehicles before long journeys to ensure they are ready and to prevent breakdowns caused by high temperatures,” Dubai Police said.
